So Life Begins

So, it has been a while since my last post. There really wasn’t much to post on besides the Ducks and the Spurs winning titles in the NHL and NBA. There wasn’t much excitement for either and the TV ratings showed it. Sadly for the NBA the 2 weeks after the finals have been much more exciting with Kobe asking for trades, possibly Garnett movement and the always entertaining NBA draft coming up. Thursday should be an entertaining night because I figure that will be when the official word comes down that KG will become a Laker. I will be extremely torn with this because I LOVE KG’s game. But he will playing with the one player that I loath more than any other professional. Maybe the Laker’s will get to a championship series with this duo, but I won’t be able to root for Kobe so hopefully the east team will consist of players that I want to have rings as badly as KG.

Aside from those tidbits the sport’s scene is somewhat in its yearly down swing. It is off season for the sports I truly love. Nascar and watching some Baseball tonight is about the only sports fix I’ll have until NFL gets going in September (and no pre-season doesn’t count). I have found the sports talk radio station for the Tulsa area, unfortunately it is Sport’s Animal out of OKC so its screwed to that side of the state a bit much at times. These guys are not of the quality of 810 up in KC but its better than nothing so check them out at 97.1 here in the Tulsa area.

Aside from sports I have started working finally. CompUSA wooo! So far its been pretty fun. I am listed as an SMB, which basically means I try to generate small business sales for the business department while I am on the sales floor. Really it means I’m the better dressed sales guy on the retail floor, so look for me in the dress shirt and name tag versus the red bowling shirt and name tag. With the better look comes better hourly pay, pretty impressive hourly I must say for a retail sales position. For anyone that has worked in the cell phone stores with me in the past, let me tell you this, this is far easier work AND better pay. Plus the goals/quotas are so easy/realistic that if you were able to do ok, not even great in any store that I’ve been apart of then you would crush it in this store. It’s a very fun environment, getting to geek out with many people that come in to buy things (other than desktops and PC laptops). And there are plenty of “pretties” that walk in the store every day. Something that is always good when you are still young and single.

Anyways, I need to get busy doing shit around here on my day off.
Peace
